"Friends don't let friends live small lives."This graphic novel was just so stinking cute. I'm not much for graphic novels, I find them difficult to follow for some reason, but I enjoyed this. The story follows Josiah and Deja, who are best friends, but only when seasonal workers at the Pumpkin Patch. This is their last day-- it's Halloween and tomorrow the Pumpkin Patch will just be an abandoned field. It's Josiah's last chance to talk to the girl who sells fudge, who he has never spoken to but feels could be the one. Deja, being a good friend, is on a mission to help them. Fall themed shenanigans ensue. In the end, Josiah might realize the mission isn't what he thought it was, after all.Deja is hilarious. Josiah is adorably clueless. I love autumn and this really got me pumped for the upcoming season. It was a lightning quick read that put a smile on my face. Rainbow Rowell is hit or miss for me but this story worked. Recommended.
